Sloane Stephens announces new podcast, 'Sincerely, Sloane,' which debuts May 13

Sloane Stephens: Grand Slam champion, former Top 10 player, podcast host. The 30-year-old American will soon join the ranks of ATP and WTA stars to host their own shows with the announcement of "Sincerely, Sloane," which is set to debut on Monday.

The podcast will be produced by Uninterrupted, the media brand founded by LeBron James that centers storytelling from an athlete's perspective. The company also recently worked on Who is Stan Smith?, the documentary that tells the story of another American Grand Slam champion and sneaker icon.

The former US Open champion's robust off-court portfolio already includes a charitable foundation, and she's one-half of a sporting power couple as a wife to soccer star Jozy Altidore and stepmother to his son, Cameron. On her podcast, Stephens says she'll peel back the layers behind being a multi-faceted athlete, and that her new show will "get real" with her guests' "stories, perspectives, and routines that help us show up at our best."

"As a professional tennis player, mother, daughter, wife, and entrepreneur I have been through a number of ups and downs and have learned to battle through adversity as well as achieve the unimaginable," Stephens teased in the podcast's trailer.

Stephens joins active players including Victoria Azarenka, Caroline Garcia, Nick Kyrgios and Naomi Osaka in entering the podcast arena, as well as the retired former US Open champion Andy Roddick, just to name a few. Kyrgios' show, Good Trouble with Nick Kyrgios, has seen the former Wimbledon finalist exit the tennis world and sit down for crossover coversations with stars like Gordon Ramsey, Mike Tyson and Rainn Wilson on Tennis Channel's second network T2, and Stephens' podcast is already promising a similarly star-studded slate of guests.

"We're peeling back the layers to share real stories, laughs, and life-changing moments that will inspire those to be their best self," the post teased. "Join us as we go beyond the surface with the brightest stars in sports, entertainment, and beyond."

The news drops amidst a clay-court resurgence for the 2017 US Open champion, despite a second-round exit to the in-form Yulia Putintseva at the Internazionali BNL d'Italia on Thursday.

Kicking off what she described as a "long, eight weeks" in Europe, Stephens won her eighth career singles title in Rouen, France last month, and two wins in Madrid gave her a seven-match winning streak that eventually ended at the hands of a Top 10 player, Maria Sakkari. Her spring season on the surface began with a doubles triumph in Charleston alongside compatriot Ashlyn Krueger, for her first career WTA-level doubles title—a milestone she said she was "over the moon" to achieve.
