It's a girl for Belinda Bencic! The reigning Olympic gold medalist has welcomed her first child, daughter Bella, this week.

Bencic's longtime boyfriend, Slovak soccer player Martin Hromkovic, announced Bella's birth in an Instagram post on Wednesday.

"Our love Bella," the caption read, along with Bella's birth date: April 23. Bencic can be seen holding the baby in the photo.

The reigning Olympic gold medalist had previously announced her pregnancy in November when she was ranked No. 14.

A popular player in the WTA locker room, the post was met with a flood of congratulatory messages from Bencic's fellow players, from Ons Jabeur and Jelena Ostapenko, to her Billie Jean King Cup teammate Jil Teichmann and her best friend, Donna Vekic.

"Taurus baby, best baby," Ajla Tomljanovic (who has a May 7 birthday herself) wrote.

"Welcome to the mom's club," former US Open semifinalist Yanina Wickmayer, who returned to compete after the birth of her own daughter, wrote. "The best club in the world by far."

Bencic, 27 as of last month, had a successful season in 2023 before going on maternity leave. She won titles in Adelaide and Abu Dhabi, and also was the runner-up in Charleston to Jabeur. She reached the fourth round at Wimbledon and the US Open, and at the former, she had match points against Iga Swiatek before falling in three sets.
