Final Analysis: Asics brings the light and low approach to the court with the Gel-Solution Speed. Lower to the ground than the Gel-Resolution, the Gel-Solution Speed incorporates a Solyte midsole that features rear and forefoot Gel cushioning for an exceptionally light weight and ample shock absorption. Weartesters agreed, saying that the Speed’s feather-like feel and fast break-in time quickened their movement and helped them feel the court beneath their feet. Weartesters also noted that the shoe’s mesh upper construction provided superior breathability and moisture management. If there was one knock against the Gel-Solution Speed, it was the shoe’s flexpoint—that is, it bends a little too far back from the ball of the foot, its natural bending point. Accordingly, the shoe is suited only to those with neutral foot types; players with pronated and supinated feet who need greater arch support should look elsewhere.
