Final Analysis: At 14.4 ounces, the Speed Pro Lite is Head’s lightest men’s performance shoe ever. The Speed Pro Lite is built with an Energy Bridge, a mid-foot design made from TPU, a hard polymer that provides stability and increased transfer of energy from the heel to the forefoot, according to the company. It also includes Vi-Pod technology, a shock-absorbing system in the heel. Weartesters gave the shoe props for its stability and comfort. Although some teaching professionals familiar with the previous Speed Pro model felt the Lite’s weight reduction negatively affected its comfort and arch support, men who liked a game-day shoe with which to serve and volley and/or play doubles were fans of the shoe’s fortified toe guard. The Speed Pro Lite has a roomy fit, which can accommodate a variety of foot pathologies for people with neutral foot types.
