Final Analysis: Shoe of choice for touring professional Gael Monfils—with a number of La Monf-inspired graphics and details to show for it—the men’s K-Swiss Tubes Mid includes an outsole made from Aosta II rubber for greater traction and durability. The shoe also features Tubes technology, shock-absorbing cylinders in the midsole that mirror the natural gait cycle to provide extra cushioning, according to K-Swiss. Some weartesters docked points from the shoe because of the added weight of its mid-cut upper, which they said detracted from the shoe’s agility and ventilation. But weartesters with a history of chronic ankle sprains loved how that same mid-cut design added stability above the foot. If you’re looking for a more conventional, low-cut K-Swiss shoe, consider the Tubes Tennis 100, which incorporates similar technology and was released last year. It comes in men’s as well as women’s sizing.
