Facts: New for 2013, the middle member of the Rush family—there's also the $130 Rush Pro and $60 Rush Pro Jr.—comes in three color options for men: White/grey, black/red, and blue/white and silver (available in May 2013). The women’s Rush comes in white/grey, and blue/white/silver. The men’s Rush comes in sizes 7-13 and 14; the women’s model is available in sizes 5.5-10 and 11. A size 9 men’s sample weighed in at 11.9 oz; a size 7.5 women’s model weighed 10.1 oz.

A lithe feel is enforced by the all-court Duralast outsole, which provides durability and traction on all surfaces. Endofit, Wilson’s new, full-construction inner sleeve, is designed to enhance the fit, feel, and comfort of the shoe, with light R-dst midsole material adding reinforced cushioning in the heel and forefoot. Note: The Rush is not accompanied by the six-month durability guarantee of the fully-loaded Rush Pro.

Impressions: This performance shoe will appeal to avid players who value light weight, maneuverability, and a low-to-the-ground feel. It should cling to the court like a Formula 1 car hugging a curve.

Operating under the theory that “the higher the sole and midsole, the more unstable footwear is at the ankle,” Wilson brought the Rush lower to the ground, an effort aimed to create stability and cushioned comfort. The Rush features several of the technologies built in Wilson’s shoe for tour players, the Rush Pro, in a lighter, less-expensive package that should suit a wide range of players.
