Although it won’t be available at retailers until October 1, there’s still quite a buzz surrounding Wilson’s new Pro Staff RF 97 Autograph. Especially after the final cosmetics were released earlier this month. We were fortunate enough to get an early test frame—quick take: it’s a beast—and will have a full review at some point during the U.S. Open.

Until then, Roger Federer was good enough to answer a few questions from us about his signature stick during a satellite media session. Here are his feelings on making the transition to a new frame after so many years, the perks of the racquet, and its much talked about graphics:
