Like the Speed Series, the YouTek Instinct Rev has been upgraded with Graphene. 200 times stronger than steel, Graphene fibers are integrated into the racquet’s shaft. The company says this increases its strength, reduces its weight and allows for an optimal redistribution of weight, making the racquet more powerful and easier to swing.
How It Tested
Compared with its counterpart, the Speed Rev, the YouTek Instinct Rev is slightly lighter and more maneuverable, and has a thicker beam. Still, notwithstanding the extra forgiveness, the Instinct Rev seeks to accommodate, if not an identical ability level, a similar style: consistent backcourt play. Beginner-intermediate playtesters reported success meeting the ball out in front and returning it deep; many also claimed the stick’s added maneuverability paid dividends spreading the court, benefiting strategies valuing placement over power. As one 3.5 player with a semi-Western forehand and two-handed backhand put it, “The Rev allowed me to play angles I’d thought impossible. I covered the court quite well with this frame.” Comfort also came to the forefront in playtesters’ reviews; several said that the racquet “pocketed” the ball, lending the stick a distinct response.
A smooth racquet for beginner-intermediates who prize comfort from the baseline.
