Likes: The five stripes on the upper—a combination of leather, synthetics and mesh—make up for the light mesh’s lack of support, as does a leather band over the midfoot that reaches the laces on both sides. A unique directional material in the heel counter acts like Velcro and prevents the heel from slipping and rising out of the shoe.
Dislikes: The EVA midsole provides great cushioning, but because it wraps under the shoe it creates a crisscross pattern on the midsection of the outsole that could end up collecting clay, which would add weight and compromise some traction.
Bottom Line: The lightweight BigShot balances stability, durability and comfort so effectively that it could be K-Swiss’ finest performance shoe ever.
