Biography

Cuevas captured his first career ATP title with a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Joao Sousa in the Bastad final on July 13, 2014. He became the first Uruguayan champion on the ATP Tour since five-time titlist Marcelo Filippini won St. Poelten, Austria, in May 1997. Two weeks later, the qualifier defeated top-seeded Fabio Fognini and defending champion Tommy Robredo on the same day to win his second title in Umag.
