Vasek Pospisil earned international attention in August, 2013 when he defeated John Isner and Tomas Berdych to set up the first all-Canadian Masters 1000 semifinal with Davis Cup teammate Milos Raonic. Pospisil lost to Raonic in a third-set tiebreaker. The rangy, 6'4" Pospisil regards his two-handed backhand as his favorite shot. Pospisil partnered veteran Daniel Nestor to clinch Canada's 3-2 victory over Italy and send the nation to its first Davis Cup semifinal in 2013. Pospisil and Jack Sock partnered for the first time at the 2014 Wimbledon and defeated the top-seeded Bryan brothers in the final, 7-6 (5), 6-7 (3), 6-4, 3-6, 7-5, to capture the titel. They were the third team to win a Grand Slam doubles title in their first tournament together and the first since Max Mirnyi and Lleyton Hewitt did it at the 2000 U.S. Open. Pospisil and Sock partnered to win the Atlanta title in their second tournament together.
