Vera Zvonareva loses her temper and goes down to Daniela Hantuchova 7-6 (3), 6-4 in the semis of Pattaya City. With the loss, defending champion and No. 3 Zvonareva is now without a title in the past year.

Zvonareva was reportedly penalized for improper conduct in the second to last point of the match after challenging a line call, when she had an argument with the umpire and called for the referee. The umpire claimed Zvonareva was swearing, a charge which she denied. The Russian apparently lost her temper a number of times during the match and smashed her racket.
