Serena and Venus 'have more to give'
After becoming the first players in history to win four Olympic gold medals when they beat Czechs Andrea Hlavackova and Lucie Hradecka in the women’s doubles final today, Serena and Venus Williams say that they aren’t done yet. Serena became the first woman in history to win the career Golden Slam — all four majors and the Olympics — in both singles and doubles.
"Lately I've just been focused only on tennis, nothing else, no distractions, no life," said the 30-year-old Serena. "My life is practice in the morning, training in the afternoon. Wake up to practice in the morning, training. I've definitely been spending a lot more time on the tennis court. I have a nothing-to-lose attitude."
The 31-year-old Venus added: "Knowing that we have so much more to give, that we have great tennis in our racquets, is so motivating. We want to be able to, when we're done, to look back and say we gave everything. That's important to us."
