Facts: Fila addresses comfort and fit with its “superaction” midsole cushioning material and polyurethane molded sockliner, which minimizes weight and “does not break down like EVA does,” according to Fila. The upper fosters a snug, secure fit thanks to a foam-lined heel collar and embedded strap, which holds the tongue in place. The “evergrind” outsole has a herringbone pattern and is built with flex grooves that the brand claims will enhance comfort.

The Sentinel men’s model comes in four colors: White/blue/grey, black/metallic silver, black/neon green, and Fila’s traditional white/blue and red. There are three women’s colors: White/metallic silver, white/blue/black, and white/pink/grey and black.  Men’s sizes are 7-12, 13, 14, and 15; women’s sizes are 5-10 and 11. A men's size 10 weighs 14.5 oz.; a women's size 9 weighs 13.1 oz.

Impressions: A traditional tennis brand incorporates some high-tech elements into its new release. Comfort is a priority, as Fila strived to accommodate the foot inside the shoe with the molded sockliner, attached tongue, and softened midsole material. This shoe features more mesh than recent Fila entries, which enhances breathability. The evergrind outsole extends above the tip of the toe to provide protection for toe draggers and aggressive players who tend to punish their shoes.
