Video Vault: Sesame Street showings, from Ashe to Del Potro

Juan Martin del Potro, in a nutshell: Buddying up with a trio of TV show characters one week, saving first-round match points in the next. The No. 7-ranked Argentine is an affable chap, to be sure, and that amiable nature of his was readily on display last week at the ATP Rotterdam tournament.

Sidling up next to him after a match—he would go on to claim the title—were Bert, Ernie, and Elmo from one of the most well-known addresses worldwide: Sesame Street. Via delightful Spin friend @TheSliceTweets, here's a look at this motley crew's interaction:

Of course, the logical career progression for the Sesame Street trifecta was to sit in the Hawk-Eye booth during Delpo's match. But it's hardly Sesame Street's first foray into tennis territory. See below two clips, one involving Big Bird rallying with (who else?) Tony Danza, and a vintage look at Arthur Ashe hitting balls against a wall to the tune of the alphabet.
