High-waisted swimwear gets a lot of play this week on the form of Serena Williams, who sports a black-and-white number with accent-colored fingernail polish (of course) for a photo shoot.  She looks great, every asset in place, and her body of work isn't anything to scoff at either. The hair and earrings seem very Beyoncé, which is to say it's the look of a maturing, powerful young woman born in September 1981. (A great time to be born, I must say.) Heralded photographer Walter Iooss Jr. also shared a photo of Serena yesterday, that on his Instagram account, and it's a sharp one.  In researching Iooss's photo dossier on Serena, your trusty Spin keeper also came across this iconic andremarkably candid image, shot in 2009 around the time of Serena's epic meltdown at the U.S. Open.

To be sure, that's a lot of look. Life's a beach for Serena, a Florida resident. Do you like the styling for her shoot?

He performed it upon hitting his first backhand winner of a first-round match against Nikolay Davydenko in Monte Carlo on Monday:
