Simon hires new coach

World No. 17 Simon has hired German Jan de Witt as his new coach.

France’s Gilles Simon has hired German Jan de Witt to coach him, L’Equipe  reports.

De Witt previously worked with Jarkko Nieminen. The 17th-ranked Simon recently parted with French coach Thierry Tulasne. Simon has advanced to three semifinals — Rotterdam, Marseille and Bucharest — in nine tournaments this season.
