That's right, the greatest male tennis player of all time—yes, we're calling that right here—has joined the rank and file of the Twitterverse. You can follow @RogerFederer's kingly whereabouts and goings-on to your forehand-loving heart's content. "At the end of the day, it's got to be something I needed to feel comfortable with," Fed said today at the French Open. Here's hoping he will adapt to the social medium and make it more personal and amusing than his first two tweets have shown.

Federer can definitely take pointers from Maria Sharapova, who has become a witty, funny force on Twitter. At 6 p.m. (EST) on Thursday, May 23, Federer had 37,095 followers on Twitter. By 11:45 a.m. today, nearly 18 hours later? 175,011. One has to think that he will soon catch Sharapova, who has pulled in 228,000-plus followers to date.

Speaking of Sharapova, VOGUE magazine highlights her Parisian favorites in a new web story that notes her recent Italian Open withdrawal after defeating Sloane Stephens and how she looks forward to defending her Roland Garros title in the next two weeks. Among her insights: “The Rick Owens store at the Royal Palais. There’s something really cool about buying a Rick piece when in Paris.” Yea, about those tennis stars—they're not always like us.

Do you think Fed and Maria can claim glory early next month?
