In an interview with Tennis Australia, former world No. 4 Jelena Dokic says she had wrist surgery last year that took her eight to nine months to recover from. The 30-year-old, who will attempt a comeback, also says she had shoulder trouble before that. She is hoping to contest the Australian Open Wild Card Playoffs in December and is currently on tour with the federation promoting the sport to kids.

“It’s been quite tough last two years but I would like to play again and see what I can do,” she said. “It will be hard but I’m aware of that and I still want to do it and get up and compete. I’m going to do it until I’ve had enough and I’m not close to that yet.”
