ROTTERDAM, Netherlands (AP)—Hometown favorite Igor Sijsling has upset Russia's Mikhail Youzhny 6-2, 6-2 in the first round of the ABN Amro.

Sijsling, a wild card, served nine aces and did not drop serve against seventh-seeded Youzhny, the 2007 champion and 2010 runner-up, on Tuesday. Sijsling saved the only break point he faced from Youzhny, who is off to a 1-4 win-loss start this year.

Ernests Gulbis defeated Denis Istomin, 6-4, 7-6 (4). Marin Cilic, who won the Zagreb title on Sunday, extended his winning streak to six matches with a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Lukas Rosol.

Defending champion Juan Martin del Potro and Wimbledon winner Andy Murray make their first appearances on Wednesday.
