Mike and Bob Bryan defeated Julien Benneteau and Edouard Roger-Vasselin in the Shanghai doubles final to complete the career Golden Masters. The Bryan brothers became the first men — in singles or doubles — to win a title at each of the nine Masters tournaments as well as all four Grand Slams and the Olympic doubles gold medal.

“It's another great milestone. This week was full of them for us," Bob Bryan said. "To come and get in the title match, have a shot at winning the tournament that's eluded us, complete the Golden Masters, is amazing.”

It was also Roger Federer's first victory in Shanghai, giving him seven of the nine Masters titles — Rome and Monte Carlo are the ones he has yet to win — along a title at each of the Grand Slams.

Federer also moved within 1,000 points of Novak Djokovic in the ATP Race to London Standings, giving him an opportunity to take No. 1 if he can perform better than the top-ranked Serbian at the Paris Masters or the Tour Finals. Federer has won four titles and reached five finals this season.
