LINZ, Austria (AP)—Karolina Pliskova of the Czech Republic rallied to defeat Anna-Lena Friedsam of Germany 2-6, 6-3, 6-3 on Saturday and set up a final against Camila Giorgi of Italy at the Generali Ladies.

The seventh-seeded Pliskova is aiming for her third career title and second of the season after winning in Seoul last month, while Giorgi is chasing her first trophy.

Pliskova won the only previous match against the Italian, 7-5, 6-2, in Dubai last February.

The 30th-ranked Pliskova, who was the only seeded player left in the tournament after the first round, lost four straight games from 2-2 in the opening set against Friedsam.

The Czech player dominated the second set as Friedsam took a medical timeout for treatment of her abdominal muscles.

Pliskova dropped 3-1 behind in the final set before winning the next five games against the 94th-ranked German, who had never been beyond the second round of a WTA event.

Earlier, Giorgi defeated fellow Italian Karin Knapp 6-4, 6-2.

The 42nd-ranked Giorgi, who hasn't dropped a set in the tournament, will go into her second final of the season after losing to Alize Cornet in Katowice, Poland in April.

Giorgi broke Knapp in the third game to take the opening set. She dropped serve early in the second but won six straight games from 2-0 down to close out the win.
