Bernard Tomic feels that he and Donald Young were put under a lot of pressure when they were very young players.

“For sure there was a lot of talk about Donald when he was young and a lot of potential we had for both of us,” Tomic said in Delray Beach, where he played Young in the semifinals. “It's not easy. There's a lot of pressure around.”

Both won junior Grand Slam tournaments: Young won the Australian Open boys’ title in 2005, and Tomic won it in 2008. Tomic, an Australian, is now 22 years old, and has reached a career-high ranking of No. 27, 11 spots better than the American Young’s career best.

Young, now 25 years old, defeated Tomic in the semis, 4-6, 6-4, 6-2. He would lose in the final to Ivo Karlovic.

"He's playing very good now at the start of the year … and I'm playing well," said Tomic. "I did a lot of work in the off-season on my body to be fit and strong because at the end of the day the sport is fitness. I just want to play as much as I can, win as many matches as I can and just have fun."
