Madison Keys wants to keep building upon her run to the Australian Open semifinals, with the teenager winning her opening match at Indian Wells over Klara Koukalova. The 20-year-old American plays Jelena Jankovic in the next round.

Keys was playing her first match since her breakthrough run, having experienced a leg injury in Melbourne. She is now looking for more consistency, saying, “So as great as it was to do well there, I'm looking forward and just trying to do well in this tournament now.

She added, "Tennis is very much what's happening today."

Keys said her semifinal showing Down Under has given her more motivation. "It was by far my best tournament. So there was all of those emotions," she said. "But then again, it was that I can't wait to go back and train so that I can try to have another moment like that."

The world No. 18 is receiving a lot of attention these days, but says she is still finding time to do what she wants—including making bets with Ryan Harrison on football matches and joining Sam Querrey to watch his television appearance.

"There has definitely been some more requests and things like that, but managing it pretty well," she said. "You know, everything is just really planned so I have time for certain things throughout the day."
