Petra Kvitova has withdrawn from Indian Wells, citing exhaustion.

In a statement on her website, the Czech said,  "I am extremely disappointed to have to withdraw from the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, one of my favourite tournaments on the calendar."

Kvitova, who is 11-4 this season and fell in the quarterfinals of Doha, said she was taking some time off and explained, "I have been feeling exhausted on the court in recent weeks and unable to compete at 100 percent."

She has not yet decided whether she will be able to play her next scheduled event at Miami, TENNIS.com has bee told. She said that she wants to be fully healthy when she returns.

Kvitova has frequently experienced breathing and virus problems during her career, but this year has not had any coughing problems or fevers. The Czech will seek medical advice to identify her condition.
