Sania Mirza, ranked No. 5 in doubles, has split with sixth-ranked Su-wei Hsieh. The Indian star will now play with Martina Hingis at Indian Wells and Miami, she wrote in a statement. Last year, Mirza won the WTA Finals with Cara Black and then partnered with Hsieh, who had stopped playing with Shuai Peng.

However, Mirza and Hsieh played four tournaments this year and apparently are not satisfied. This year, Mirza won Sydney with Bethanie Mattek-Sands. But then she and Hsieh lost in the second round of the Australian Open and the first round of Dubai before reaching the final at Doha.

Hsieh also plays singles, while Mirza does not play singles anymore. The two found that their games do not go together very well. "My results with Hsieh have not been extraordinary in the four tournaments we played in since January," Mirza said. "Hsieh is not feeling comfortable while playing on the advantage court and feels she is struggling to make the adjustment. I tried playing on the backhand side in Doha and we did reach the final, but I feel I am unable to play my best tennis from the ad court when we are playing against the top teams of the world."

Mirza is unsure whether she will continue with Hingis beyond March. Hingis has been playing with Pennetta, but while the Swiss and Italian played very well last year, they have struggled this year. They lost in the first round of their last two tournaments (Dubai and Doha).

Pennetta has yet to decide with whom she will play at Indian Wells or Miami. The 32-year-old won the 2014 Indian Wells singles title. Currently ranked No. 16, Pennetta has yet to decide whether she will continue to play next year, or whether she will retire.
