Following a subpar start to the season, Grigor Dimitrov says he is adjusting and could re-evaluate his team.

The 23-year-old won three titles and reached a Grand Slam semifinal in 2014, breaking into the Top 10, but is just 12-7 this season and has not reached a tournament final.

“The season, for me, starts now,” he told press in Bulgaria.

Dimitrov’s play has improved significantly since he began working with coach Roger Rasheed in 2013, but the world No. 11 described his position with his coach as “delicate.”

“We have discussed the results with everyone on my team and we are looking for the best solution,” Dimitrov said. “I am playing more, traveling more and I need more attention in training and in tournaments. Me and my team are looking to find where we can improve. There is always tension, but that is one of the things that I like.”

Dimitrov is also using a new racquet, and suggested it could take the whole season to get used to playing with it. “We have gone through many stages with Wilson. I have tried two so far and I think it is getting better,” he said.

Dimitrov’s next event is in Istanbul, an ATP 250 tournament.
