Caroline Wozniacki was up 5-3 in the third set against Angelique Kerber in the final of Stuttgart but lost 3-6, 6-1, 7-5, yet she said she is not extremely disappointed.

The former No. 1 hasn’t won a WTA Premier event since 2012. However, she said that she enjoys running for hours. Last year, the 24-year-old ran the New York Marathon and finished in 3:26. The two played almost three hours before the German prevailed.

“I felt good right through until the end,” Wozniacki said. “I love these long matches and if I can run a marathon, then I can play in great games like that. We needed nearly three hours and that would be a pretty good marathon time.”

The No. 5 also said that she wasn’t disappointed because she likes Kerber. “We’ve trained a lot together and spent a lot of time together,” she said. “It's always cool to meet a friend in the final. ”
