ESTORIL, Portugal (AP) -- Richard Gasquet of France won the Estoril Open final in straight sets on Sunday, beating Australian Nick Kyrgios 6-3, 6-2.

Fifth-seeded Gasquet, who broke seventh-seeded Kyrgios three times on the clay court, won in just over an hour for his 12th career title and second of the year after also winning at Montpellier.

This was their first meeting since Kyrgios saved nine match points on his way to beating Gasquet in the second round of Wimbledon last year.

Gasquet was playing in his first tournament since hurting his back at the BNP Paribas Open two months ago.

With 12 titles, Gasquet is tied with countryman Gilles Simon as the most successful French player in the Open Era after Yannick Noah's 23.

''I am really happy with the victory,'' Gasquet said. ''To feel no pain, it's a good thing for me.''

It was Kyrgios' first final, and he failed to impose his serve or convert any of the three break chances he had.

''There was definitely a bit of pressure out there,'' said the 20-year-old Kyrgios. ''He was way too good for me and I need to get better.''
