Hermione who? In a series of emphatic tweets, Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling shared her love for all things Serena Williams: the athlete, the legend, the woman. So when a feckless "she's built like a man" thug raided her Twitter party, Rowling promptly put him in his place.

The heralded Brit also had kind words for Garbine Muguruza, who beat Serena soundly at the 2014 French Open but couldn't withstand the Greatest of All Time's onslaught in this Wimbledon final. Sounds like she'll be rooting for the 21-year-old going forward, as long as she's not playing either of a certain pair of her WTA Tour elders.

If some observers wondered what inspired her adoring posts, Rowling revealed in an earlier tweet just why she fancies Serena so.

Rowling also acknowledged, in thoroughly amusing fashion, that her own tennis game leaves much to be desired.

Asked in the All England Club's press room just how she does it, Serena skipped a beat before replying with a wink, "Just do it."

Brilliant, as was her entire performance. Why, she even got in an exchange of passing shots with a certain BBC commentator, Andy Roddick.

To Wimble-men's news: Jason Whitlock is hardly the only man to eat his words on ESPN's "Pardon the Interruption." The show's co-host, Michael Wilbon, declared as far back as 2010 that Roger Federer was "done." And yet Federer is perched squarely at No. 2 in the ATP World Tour rankings behind the bendy, monstrous Novak Djokovic, and entering his tenth career Wimbledon singles final, in which he hopes to break the record of seven SW19 crowns that he shares now with Pete Sampras.

Suffice it to say, with Federer's career record against Djokovic standing at 20-19, Sunday's championship contest may be one for the ages. The two are even tied at 6-6 in Grand Slam matches to date. Splendor in the grass, ahoy.
