Andy Murray received a tour of the White House before the ATP event in Washington, D.C., with the world No. 3 the top seed at the event.

''It was fantastic to look around the White House. It’s something I’ve never done before and may never get the opportunity to do again," said Murray to ATPWorldTour.com. "The West Wing was very interesting to see.

"I probably expected it to be a bit bigger. It was fairly small in there and a lot of the rooms aren’t that big, and the corridors as well."

Murray arrived at the tournament a week before his first scheduled match, to get used to the hard courts and the humidity. "It’s extremely hot, difficult conditions," he said.

Murray is coming off two Davis Cup singles victories going into the tournament.
