Kei Nishikori has withdrawn from the Cincinnati Masters 1000 tournament with a hip injury. The world No. 4 fell to Andy Murray in the semifinals of the Montreal Masters 1000 on Saturday, 6-3, 6-0.

"My hip was bothering me, so I couldn't really play and could barely finish the match," the 25-year-old said, "but I had two good tournaments so I'm very happy with my tennis."

Nishikori was not moving properly in the second set against Murray and said following the match that he was very tired. The week before, Nishikori won five matches in Washington, D.C., including three three-set matches. In Montreal, Nishikori beat Pablo Andujar, David Goffin, and Rafael Nadal in straight sets before losing to Murray.

"I think I’m more tired," said Nishikori, when asked if there was a specific injury. "Everything was sore these couple of days. It got a little bit worse, so I couldn’t really move 100 percent. Especially after the first set, I was feeling it more and more. Definitely wasn't good day for my body."

Nishikori has won 10 ATP titles but no Masters or Grand Slam tournaments. He reached the finals of the Madrid Masters and U.S. Open in 2014. This season, he withdrew from Wimbledon due to a calf injury.

"To be No. 1 there’s many things to do. But I think I’ve been doing what I have to do right now," Nishikori said. "Doing a lot of things to work hard off the court. I worked hard the two weeks before Washington. I think stay healthy is the most important thing for me because if I can play well and if I can play every tournaments decent amounts, I think next goal is to win a Masters or Grand Slam. For me I haven’t get any title from Masters or Grand Slam. So I think that’s going to be my next goal."
