TOKYO (AP) Yanina Wickmayer of Belgium overpowered Ajla Tomljanovic 7-5, 6-2 on Saturday to advance to the final of the Japan Open.

Wickmayer converted all five of her break point chances to dispatch the seventh-seeded Tomljanovic in 1 hour, 27 minutes at Ariake Colosseum.

Wickmayer will face Magda Linette of Poland in Sunday's final. Linette ousted sixth-seeded Christina McHale of the United States 3-6, 6-4, 6-3.

Linette got off to a sluggish start but seized control of the match in the second set when she broke her opponent's serve three times.
