Casey Dellacqua suffered a concussion following a fall on the court in Beijing, causing the Australian to withdraw from the doubles tournament at the WTA Finals in Singapore. Dellacqua was scheduled to play with Yaroslava Shvedova, but says she has not sufficiently recovered from the injury. Ranked No. 5 and No. 6, the two have reached two Grand Slam finals in doubles this season.

"Unfortunately since my fall in Beijing, where I sustained concussion and whiplash injuries, I have not fully recovered,” said Dellacqua in a statement to the WTA. "My health is always my priority."

Eugenie Bouchard is also sidelined with concussion, and has not completed a match since falling in the locker room at the US Open.

Dellacqua’s withdrawal allowed the Spanish team of Garbine Muguruza and Carla Suarez Navarro entry into the eight-team draw at the WTA Finals.
