Richard Gasquet's loss in the Basel semifinals means that David Ferrer and Kei Nishikori have qualified for the ATP World Tour Finals in London, filling the eight-played field.

Gasquet, who was the only player still in contention coming into the week, needed to win Basel and the Paris Masters to qualify.

The eight players who have secured their spots are Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray, Roger Federer, Stan Wawrinka, Rafael Nadal, Tomas Berdych, Ferrer and Nishikori.

Ferrer and Nishikori are tied with 3,945 points. Any withdrawals would allow the next highest player into the field.

The next highest player is Gasquet with 2,670 points, with 1,000 points going to the winner of the Paris Masters. Those following him are Jo-Wilfried Tsonga with 2,545 points, Marin Cilic with 2,395 points, Kevin Anderson with 2,385 points, and John Isner with 2,315 points.

Andy Murray has not yet announced whether he will play in London, having said he might withdraw because of Davis Cup. Ferrer also withdrew from this week's Valencia Open with an elbow injury.
