CoCo Vandeweghe: My Mother

My hero would have to be my mother. She’s the one that raised me and made me who I am today. On the court, being the sportswoman that she was—a two-time Olympian in swimming and in volleyball; off the court, making sure I’m conducting myself in the best behavior—which isn’t all the time, but I try my best. And also for telling me when I look good in an outfit when she sees me on TV. She’s always by my side and I can’t thank her enough for what she’s done for me.
