Over four weeks, Baseline will bring you four of the best workout tracking wrist accessories. This week, it's the Nike FuelBand SE:

Cost: 99$

Sizes:  Large (7.76”), medium (6.77”) and small (5.79”)

Width: 0.6”

Colors: Variety

Battery life: Four days

Features:

My favorite aspect of the Nike FuelBand SE is the band look. The hard, rubberized bracelet with a smooth, matte finish is predominantly black, with brightly colored accent options. And the seamless bracelet means no clasp to get caught on clothing and popping loose.

The band estimates calories burned and tracks steps taken, but the primary point of information is calculating Fuel points. Nike creating their own unit of standard measurement has the potential for better—or at least alternate—comparison between different types of activities.

It needs to come off to go swimming—it’s water-resistant, not waterproof, so showering with it is not a problem; and to charge the band, which is easily done through the USB port on the bracelet’s closure.

Small red, yellow and green dots light up in a straight line to delineate your progress toward your predetermined goal for the day. Once the goal has been reached, a colorful animation ensues. However, since there’s no sound or vibration on the band, it can be missed if you’re not looking.
