Rajeev Ram is set to reach a career-high ranking following his showing at Delray Beach, and he credits small changes for his big improvements.

The 30-year-old reached his first hard-court final by defeating Grigor Dimitrov. It’s his first final appearance since winning Newport a year ago, which he captured for the second time.

Ranked No. 89, he will move up several spots higher than his career-high of No. 78 in 2009.

He said some of the improvements he started making right around that period have helped him impose his big serve and big forehand, and stay on attack in points.

"My career has always been about improving and enjoying myself," he was quoted as saying on the ATP’s website. "Things such as switching to a bigger, more powerful racquet to stay on offense a bit more."

Ram has defeated both the second and fourth seeds at the event.
