Smashing celebrations: Stephens, Thiem, and Suarez Navarro

Sloane Stephens defeated Dominika Cibulkova in a third-set tiebreaker to win the Acapulco title Saturday, claiming her third career title and second of 2016. The trophy ceremony was a delight, and refreshingly awkward all around, including these three segments:

Stephens let those in attendance know at the outset that her winner's speech would be delivered with a rasp.

Then she danced with her weighty trophy.

Stephens was properly feted during the ceremony with the customary champion's sombrero, a move that seemed to startle the 22-year-old.

By comparison, in winning the men's singles title in Acapulco, Dominic Thiem managed to rock his own black-and-gold sombrero.

As captured here, the pair of Stephens and Thiem found similar ways to celebrate the completion of their tournament run.

Meanwhile, in Doha, it's possible that Carla Suarez Navarro's celebrations outdid those of both of her colleagues. For one, her own trophy ceremony—smoke! lasers!—looked like something shot on a Star Wars set.

Plus, CSN (literally) let fly one of the best player-to-team exchanges of all time, if not the best.
