Venus Williams and Belinda Bencic have withdrawn from the WTA Premier Mandatory event in Madrid.

Williams withdrew with a hamstring problem

Bencic has withdrawn with a lower back problem that also kept her from playing Fed Cup.

They join Caroline Wozniacki—who is sidelined with an ankle injury—and Serena Williams.

On the men's side, Marin Cilic has withdrawn with a knee injury, and John Isner will also not play.
