NICKED: An Australian newspaper, the *Herald Sun*, posits that Nick Kyrgios would not have benefited from the same alleged "double standards" that Novak Djokovic supposedly enjoyed in Rome, when he had a brief physical incident with a chair umpire. "Safe to assume the Australian firebrand would be mercilessly pilloriedagainand probably hanged, drawn and quartered," the paper hyperbolized. What say you, tennis fans?

WIMBLEDONE? Maria Sharapova may find out soon that her 2016 WTA tour campaign has been reinstated. Or she may find out in London that she won't play professional tennis again this year. We'll find out this week.

BERD ALERT: Not long after David Goffin dealt Tomas Berdych the first 6-0, 6-0 loss of his 14-year career, Berdych fired coach Dani Vallverdu. Don't look now, but the ATP tour’s world No. 8 owns a relatively paltry 19-10 record in 2016.
