Ryan Harrison, who is ranked 158th, lost in the first round to Frank Dancevic at the Hall of Fame Tennis Championships in Newport, and says he is frustrated by his season.

Harrison reached a career-high ranking of No. 43 in 2012.

“The beautiful thing is that I'm 24 years old,” Harrison told reporters in Newport. “I'm still young. It's not like I have six more months to figure this out ... I'm not playing very well. I broke myself twice ... It's disappointing for me. It's been a disappointing year.”

Harrison qualified for the main draw at the Australia Open in January, but lost to Andrey Kuznetsov in the first round. He did manage to beat Marin Cilic in Acapulco, but then lost to the Croatian in Indian Wells in the second round. He’s had a nightmarish season since then, not winning a single main-draw match on the ATP tour.

"I'm aware of my results and it's frustrating,” Harrison said. “I'm having a tough year. I felt that this is a sport of mental toughness. I'm frustrated with the results. No matter what level you're at, whatever you're ever trying to accomplish, there's going to be setbacks. You have to have that sort of resilience. I have it, it's in my blood. I'm young and I'm healthy, which is good. From here, it's just [practicing] hard.”
