Karolina Pliskova says she is looking to beat more of the game’s elite, having scored victories against former Grand Slam finalists Dominika Cibulkova and Caroline Wozniacki to win Doha.

The 24-year-old has claimed several big scalps recently. She defeated Angelique Kerber to win Cincinnati in 2016, and then reached her first Grand Slam final at the US Open, beating Venus and Serena Williams.

"Yes, definitely my game has evolved quite a bit,” she said at a pre-event press conference in Dubai, where she is playing the WTA tournament this week. “Now I am beating players who I didn’t beat.

“I beat two of them [in Doha] and I think there are one or two left whom I have not beaten," she said

Pliskova said she particularly wants to defeat Agnieszka Radwanska, whose crafty game has led her to seven consecutive wins against the powerful Czech.

"She is the next one I want to beat and then I have played Maria [Sharapova] just once and then against [Ekaterina] Makarova, I don’t have a good record," Pliskova said.

Pliskova is the second seed in Dubai.
