An injury can make or break a player's career, leaving them a shell of their former self. Thankfully, Madison Keys has shown that not to be the case with a win of her first match in months after having surgery done on her left wrist. The American has made it to the third round in Indian Wells after dispatching Duque-Marino in two sets, 6-1, 7-5.

On the men's side, John Isner took down Kukushkin, getting through two tiebreaks to do it, 7-6 (0), 7-6 (6). The 20th beat down the player from Kazakhstan by firing over 20 aces. However, not all went according to plan for everyone.  On court 1, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga was defeated in a major upset by Fabio Fognini, 6-7, 6-3, 4-6. This comes after the Frenchman won both Rotterdam and Marseille, back to back.
