The Argentine picked up the injury in the second round of the French Open, and said he needs more time to recover from the problem.

Del Potro has played a limited scheduled since returning in 2016 from three surgical procedures on his left wrist, falling to Top 10 opponents in six of his eight events this season.

His next scheduled appearance is the grass-court event at Queen's.
