Centered on the iconic 1973 showdown between Billie Jean King (played by Emma Stone) and Bobby Riggs (played by Steve Carell), Battle of the Sexes weaves the fight for equality, a love story and a tennis match into an intricate and engrossing web.

The film leaves viewers with a renewed desire to make a positive impact on the world—and left the actors and actresses with hope that it helps continue the conversation of equality.

"I think it's an important film because it shows that a lot of this is still relevant today," Stone says. "And that we still have a lot of work to do to move the needle forward."

Battle of the Sexes is in select theaters now, everywhere September 29th.
