On Monday September 4, Marc Krajekian's dream came true when he met his lifelong idol, Roger Federer, at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. Federer was there practicing before his fourth-round match against Philipp Kohlschreiber.

The day before, Tennis Channel debuted an inspiring feature on Marc, a ten-year-old boy from North Carolina who had his leg amputated at the age of eight after being diagnosed with cancer. This young man's willingness to fight has won the hearts of the tennis community, including Federer, who sent Krajekian a heartfelt note.

"Get well soon Marc and tell me when you're ready and I'll play tennis with you," wrote Federer.

This afternoon Marc was ready, and Roger kept his promise:
