Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal have shown "we can be rivals yet get along," said Federer, but tennis is less "rock and roll" than it was when Bjorn Borg and John McEnroe were competing.

Federer made an appearance at the Zurich Film Festival, where he watched the showing of Borg vs. McEnroe and walked the carpet.

But Federer has also gotten to hear some inside stories from Borg and McEnroe themselves, and said he enjoys their accounts of their playing days. "They have incredible stories," Federer told AS. "It was more rock and roll, let's be honest. Today it's very professional—but still we have a good time.

"But it's also very similar to some extent. We can be rivals and yet get along, and I think me and Nadal have shown that, as McEnroe and Borg did."
