Eugenie Bouchard says this season has been her poorest since she started on tour.

The Canadian fell in the first round of fourteen events this season and dropped to No. 81 in the rankings.

While at a promotional event, Bouchard spoke with the Montreal Gazette and described it as the "worst since I’ve been on tour as a professional."

"I’m not in a great place for sure," she told the newspaper. "I had obviously a few injuries, which doesn’t help the confidence level in your game and also just in your body and yourself. But I just didn’t perform as I would like to. So the goal is to not think about that any more and look forward and try to do better.''

Bouchard has been as high as No. 5, reaching a final at Wimbledon, along with the Australian Open and the French Open semifinals.

Bouchard is still the highest-ranked Canadian on the WTA tour.
