Unlike many of the other players on our 10 To Watch list, Anett Kontaveit has already done some significant damage on the WTA tour. The 22-year-old recently made headlines by defeating seven-time Grand Slam champion Venus Williams in the first round of the Madrid Open. She then pushed world No. 10 Petra Kvitova to three sets in her next match.

The Estonian is also already a WTA titlist. Kontaveit won the Ricoh Open in 2017, beating players like Kristyna Pliskova, Kirsten Flipkens, Lesia Tsurenko and fellow 10 To Watch-er Natalia Vikhlyantseva along the way. It was an extremely impressive run, especially considering the fact that it was Kontaveit's first grass-court tournament of the season.

The reason Kontaveit is such a special player is that she is capable of beating her opponents in a variety of ways. She doesn't have any real weaknesses on the court, and she is always applying pressure. Kontaveit hits the ball very hard, and she isn't afraid to take chances. That allows her to be in control in a majority of her matches.
